First Arab woman, Munerah Al Rasheed to lead WCO's RILO network

Munerah Al Rasheed has been elected to lead the World Customs Organization's (WCO) Regional Intelligence Liaison Offices (RILO) for the next two years (2025-2026). This significant achievement marks the first time an Arab woman appointed to the head of RILO network. The election occurred during the 31st Global Meeting of RILO held at the WCO headquarters in Brussels, Belgium.

Munerah Al Rasheed's ascent to the position is rooted in her extensive experience and remarkable contributions to the customs field. Previously serving as vice president and Director of the Regional Intelligence Liaison Office for the Middle East (RILO ME) at the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA), she has played a pivotal role in advancing the organization's objectives.

The election process, held at the WCO headquarters in Brussels, highlighted Al Rasheed's distinguished track record and her vision for enhancing global customs operations.

During her tenure at RILO ME, Al Rasheed effectively represented 11 local offices in the Middle East at numerous international forums. Her leadership was instrumental in supervising and overseeing their activities, contributing to the region's customs intelligence efforts.

With nearly two decades of experience in various domains, Al Rasheed possesses exceptional skills in driving change, fostering strategic partnerships, and managing organizational transformation.
