Dubai’s Parkin secures deal to launch paid parking services in Saudi Arabia

Parkin, Dubai’s largest provider of paid public parking facilities, has signed an agreement with Saudi conglomerate Batic Investment and Logistics Company to enter the Saudi market. The partnership aims to offer advanced paid parking services across the Kingdom, focusing on implementing cutting-edge digital technologies to enhance traffic flow and improve user experience.

A statement from the Dubai-listed firm highlighted plans to collaborate with municipalities, real estate developers, shopping centres, hotels, and other venues in Saudi Arabia to expand paid parking services. The partnership will incorporate technologies such as AI, real-time data analysis, digital gates, sensors and smart cameras to streamline parking processes, reduce congestion and create a seamless experience for customers.

“This will enhance traffic flow, reduce congestion, and increase road capacity for private vehicles on the designated streets, while improving road safety standards across the emirate,” the Roads and Transport Authority said.

This development follows Parkin’s recent announcement of premium parking charges in Dubai, set to take effect in March 2025. Premium spaces will cost Dh6 per hour during peak times, while standard parking spaces will be charged at Dh4 per hour.

Batic, through its subsidiary Smart City Solutions Co. (SCSC), holds the distinction of being Saudi Arabia’s largest provider of paid public parking services. The collaboration leverages Batic’s robust presence in the Saudi market, with a portfolio of 195,000 parking spaces across five cities.

Eng. Mohamed Abdulla Al Ali, CEO of Parkin, emphasized the significance of the partnership, saying, “By combining our operational excellence, cutting-edge technology and industry know-how with Batic’s strong presence, the partnership is poised to deliver innovative, scalable, customer-focused parking solutions that stand to benefit both residents and visitors to the Kingdom, supporting economic growth".

Mohammed Alzamil, managing director and Group CEO of Batic, underlined the alignment with Saudi Vision 2030.

“Collaborating with the pre-eminent parking operator in the UAE will enable us to optimise the delivery of parking services across our asset base, reducing congestion, driving efficiencies and improving the overall customer journey. With an extensive parking portfolio of 195,000 parking spaces across five cities, we will achieve greater mobility in the Kingdom, aligned to the aspirations of Saudi Vision 2030", said Alzamil.

This agreement signifies a strategic step towards enhancing mobility infrastructure and meeting the evolving needs of urban development in Saudi Arabia.
