The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has announced that all public parking, excluding multi-level parking terminals, will be free of charge from Ramadan 29 until Shawwal 3. This decision comes ahead of the Eid Al Fitr holidays, providing motorists with a cost-saving measure during the festive period.
Dubai residents and visitors can enjoy complimentary parking during this period, with tariffs resuming on Shawwal 4. The initiative aims to ease traffic congestion and facilitate convenient parking for individuals celebrating Eid Al Fitr.
Free Public Parking in Sharjah for Eid Al Fitr
In Sharjah, authorities have also declared that public parking will be free on the first, second, and third day of Eid Al Fitr. However, parking zones with blue signboards will remain subject to fees on all days, including Fridays and public holidays.
It's important to note that parking zones with blue signboards in Dubai and Sharjah will maintain their regular fee structure. These areas are not included in the free parking initiative and will require payment as usual.
The free parking period in Dubai starts from Ramadan 29, corresponding to Monday, April 8, and continues until Shawwal 3, April 11, if Eid Al Fitr is confirmed on Tuesday, April 9. If the crescent moon is not sighted on Monday, Ramadan will last 30 days, with Eid Al Fitr falling on April 10. In this case, free parking will be extended until April 12, with tariffs resuming on Saturday, April 13.
