Dubai Taxi Company (DTC) announced the acquisition of 250 new licence plates exclusively for electric vehicles (EVs) on Friday. This strategic addition aligns with the UAE's Year of Sustainability, reflecting the company’s commitment to eco-friendly initiatives.
With this move, 87 per cent of DTC’s taxi fleet will now comprise environmentally-friendly vehicles. The overall fleet size of the company has expanded to 6,210 taxis, a step expected to boost annual revenues by approximately Dh85 million.
Mansoor Rahma Alfalasi, CEO of Dubai Taxi Company, said, “This move aims to expand DTC’s services both within Dubai and regionally, while strengthening partnerships with leading local and international companies in the smart and sustainable transport sector".
Beyond taxis, the company’s total fleet now exceeds 9,000 vehicles, including limousines, buses, and motorcycles. Alfalasi emphasized the broader impact of this development, saying, “This acquisition brings our fleet more than 9,000 vehicles, including taxis, limousines, buses and motorcycles, supporting DTC’s position as a leading provider of comprehensive mobility solutions and contributing to revenue growth and profitability of the business".
This expansion not only solidifies DTC’s role in promoting sustainable transportation but also highlights its dedication to integrating innovative mobility solutions within the UAE and beyond.
