Dubai Police inaugurates nation’s first ‘Tent Pegging’ police team

Dubai Mounted Police Station has made history by establishing the nation's inaugural "Tent Pegging" police team, showcasing the riders' exceptional skills in handling horses efficiently.

The team, recognized by the Emirates Equestrian Federation, constitutes the largest contingent of the UAE national tent pegging team.

Under the leadership of Captain Rashed Salem Al Shamsi, the station has facilitated the formation of the team, emphasizing on selecting and training a core group of riders, including specialised coaching.

Dr. Major General Muhammad Issa Al Adhab highlights the continuous directive from Dubai Police Commander-in-chief, focusing on advanced training programs and sports participation to enhance skills and work performance.

Dubai Mounted Police Station owns a sophisticated system, continuously striving to optimize human resources to ensure the team's success.

Establishing the tent pegging team aims to maintain high craftsmanship and exceptional performance among riders, boosting their confidence, motivation and participation in championships.

Post-training, the team has secured top positions in various national and international championships, enhancing the UAE's presence in this globally recognized equestrian sport.
