Dubai Mall to undergo Dh1.5 billion expansion

Emaar Dubai Mall to undergo Dh1.5 billion expansion Properties announced on Monday a Dh1.5 billion expansion of Dubai Mall, the largest mall in Dubai. The expansion will add 240 new luxury stores and food and beverage outlets. Contractors are already mobilizing on-site for this project.

Mohamed Alabbar, the founder of Emaar, said that the expansion is a significant addition to one of the world's most visited sites. He emphasized that it reflects Dubai’s vision to remain a leader in global innovation and culture, reinforcing its position as a top global destination.

In 2023, Dubai Mall became the most visited place on Earth, setting a new record with 105 million visitors, a 19 percent increase from the previous year. Currently, Dubai Mall is the world's second-largest shopping mall, measuring 1.2 million square meters and housing over 1,200 retail outlets.

Previously, Alabbar announced plans for a new mall in Dubai Creek Harbor, allowing customers to drive through in electric cars. This development will also include a tower, referred to as the "female Burj Khalifa."
