Dubai Electricity and Water Authority’s Sustainability and Innovation Centre has launched two new professional certification programmes in sustainability and clean energy. The Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV) and Solar Architecture course was developed with the International Energy Agency and the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland, while the Hydrogen Energy Professional program was created in partnership with TÜV Rheinland Academy.
The centre also announced the return of its Sustainability Manager program for a fourth cycle, part of DEWA’s effort to build professional skills in renewable energy and climate management. Participants who complete training and evaluation will receive accredited certificates.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, said the centre “plays a vital role in enhancing the UAE energy sector’s readiness for the future through its exhibitions, training programmes and interactive competitions”, noting that the initiatives support the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050.
The Solar Architecture course will run from February 2 to 4, 2026, providing insight into photovoltaic integration in buildings, while the Hydrogen Energy Professional program will take place from November 17 to 19, 2025, focusing on hydrogen safety and regulation. The Sustainability Manager course will be held from December 8 to 12, 2025, offering training in ESG and sustainability management.
Since its establishment, the centre has delivered 15 professional courses, graduating 294 participants as part of DEWA’s broader strategy to advance clean-energy skills and prepare Emirati professionals for leadership in the green transition.
