Burjuman metro station hosts Dubai RTA's pilot co-working space

Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) collaborates with The Co-Spaces to introduce WO-RK, a co-working concept set to launch at Burjuman Metro Station in Q2 of 2024.

WO-RK offers an easily accessible, affordable and inspiring workspace within Burjuman Metro Station, providing seamless accessibility via the metro and other public transport modes. This initiative aims to alleviate traffic congestion and reduce carbon emissions while promoting a sustainable urban environment.

The co-working space contributes to last-mile transport solutions, aligning with the ethos of a progressive workspace. It embraces hybrid work environments, catering to the evolving needs of individuals beyond traditional fixed work settings.

Mohammed Al Hammadi highlights RTA's strategic goals, emphasizing the importance of improving accessibility and fostering integration, in alignment with Dubai Urban Plan 2040. RTA plans to expand co-working spaces to other favourable locations along the metro network.

“Based on the success of the launch of the first co-working space in Burjuman Metro Station, RTA will look at expanding it to other favourable locations along the metro network,” said Mohammed Al Hammadi, Director of Commercial and Investment, RTA.

In addition to workspace, WO-RK provides essential business support services, streamlining processes for obtaining licenses and facilitating business growth through educational and mentorship programs

WO-RK emphasizes community engagement by fostering connections among members through shared spaces and organizing various events, workshops and classes. The co-working space aims to cultivate a sense of belonging and collaboration among its diverse members.
