Abu Dhabi supermarket closed for selling live poultry along with preserved food

The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority has shut down ‘High Quality Foodstuff Trading - One Person Company LLC,’ a supermarket located in Musaffah, Abu Dhabi.

The closure was enforced after the discovery of live poultry being sold alongside preserved food items in a storeroom, posing a risk to food safety and public health.

The supermarket, which holds commercial license No. CN-4660027, violated Law No. 2 of 2008 concerning food safety in Abu Dhabi. The administrative closure order will remain in effect until the supermarket corrects the current conditions, addresses the violations and meets all food safety requirements.

The authority also emphasized that all food establishments are subject to regular inspections to ensure compliance with food safety standards. It urged the public to report any food safety concerns or violations by contacting the Abu Dhabi government’s toll-free number, 800555.
