Jeddah: The art exhibition that featured 20 artists from India, Saudi Arabia and Egypt on the occasion of Saudi's national Mother's Day ended here at Gardenia Residential Complex on Wednesday. The three-day open arena event was organised by the Art Harmony gallery in the Kingdom, which mainly featured female painters in the Kingdom, Arab News reported.
An Egyptian artist, Khalid Aql, told Arab News that the day needs to be marked with what mothers deserve, and their role in people's life must be recognised. One of the organisers of the event, Khalid, said that they are very grateful to every mother in the world.
He said that the number of female artists in the Kingdom is increasing, which she attributed to the Vision 2030 of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The Vision is giving enough boost inviting immense success for the artistic movement in the Kingdom at large.
The participants in the exhibition created their paintings in front of the visitors, another organiser Matluba Qurban said. Organisers provided the artists with required materials, Qurban said.
Meanwhile, Indian artist Imran Sheikh who has been in the Kingdom for the first time, said that the Saudi artistic movement is impressive and unique. It portrays the country's diversified culture. Painter Maha Al-Enezi said that mothers symbolise kindness and tenderness as well as our beautiful past, pleasant present and the bright future. Mothers were always there in every good thing in people's lives, she said. She added that there were many remarkable works in the exhibition which feature mothers' role in supporting children.
She further said working on a piece in front of visitors was a challenge but a pleasure too.
The exhibition attendees include Lina Al-Kathiri, Maysa Mostafa, Rana Al-Saggaf, Fatima Hakami and Siham Mansour.
