Jeddah: The Saudi Red Crescent Authority (SRCA) has mobilized an extensive team of 2,540 medical professionals, ambulance technicians and administrative staff. These teams will be stationed across nearly 100 ambulance centres to ensure the well-being of pilgrims, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency.
Strategically positioned at 98 centers, SRCA staff will cover key entry points, pilgrim routes and holy sites to deliver high-quality medical care. SRCA has allocated a significant portion of its resources, including 320 ambulances, 13 advanced response vehicles, a dedicated air wing with seven air ambulances and two medical evacuation helicopters to strengthen its frontline response. Additionally, a support fleet will include 15 motorcycles, 150 golf carts, 150 electric scooters, 27 electric bicycles, 10 ambulance buses and various service vehicles.
To enhance communication during medical emergencies, translators will be available to support ambulance calls. This initiative aims to ensure seamless interactions and effective medical assistance for pilgrims from diverse linguistic backgrounds.
Furthermore, over 595 volunteers will assist the SRCA, offering ambulance services and educating pilgrims on essential preventive health measures.
