Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan met Oman’s Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al-Busaidi on Monday in Muscat, where the two sides reviewed bilateral ties and discussed regional and international developments.
The meeting was held alongside the third session of the Saudi-Omani Coordination Council, which the two ministers co-chaired in the Omani capital. The session included the heads of the Council’s subsidiary committees and the leadership of the General Secretariat from both countries.
Discussions focused on strengthening cooperation across multiple fields and advancing existing frameworks for coordination. The meeting reflected the direction set by the leaderships of Saudi Arabia and Oman to deepen relations and support shared economic and development goals.
Prince Faisal said the Muscat meeting builds on the outcomes of the previous Coordination Council session held last year in AlUla. He referred to progress achieved under the Council’s approved initiatives and recommendations and stressed the need to continue implementation work.
He highlighted the role of the subsidiary committees in completing remaining initiatives and underlined the responsibility of the General Secretariat in monitoring progress and resolving any obstacles. He also pointed to the importance of expanding trade ties, encouraging investment and strengthening cooperation between public and private sectors.
Prince Faisal noted ongoing efforts to establish and launch the Coordination Council’s electronic platform, which is intended to link committee activities and initiatives and support follow-up on implementation.
Al-Busaidi said relations between Saudi Arabia and Oman have seen qualitative progress, with developments across a range of sectors aimed at economic integration, increased trade and joint investment. He also pointed to deeper cooperation in security and judicial matters, as well as in cultural and tourism fields.
The Omani foreign minister added that political coordination and consultation between the two countries continues at an advanced level on regional and international issues.
