Saudi launches 4th Makkah Route for Hajj pilgrims

Jeddah: Serving the best quality service, the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Interior has opened its fourth Makkah Route initiative for pilgrims to have a hassle-free Hajj trip, Arab News reported.

The new initiative also targets to ensure that all the health requirements of pilgrims are met in their countries before the Saudi visa is issued.

For the initiative, the Ministry of Interior has joined hands with the Health Ministry, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the General Authority of Civil Aviation, the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, the Saudi Authority for Data and Artificial Intelligence, the Guests of God Service Program, Saudi Passports, and the Saudi digital security firm Elm Co.

The initiative is a part of the Guests of God Service Programme, inaugurated by King Salman in 2019. It will provide pilgrims with the best services, aiding them in performing their Hajj rituals.

Things like Issuing visas, ensuring health requirements, codifying and sorting pilgrims' luggage at the airports of their home countries etc., come under it. The initiative encompasses the five nations of Pakistan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Morocco, and Bangladesh. Pilgrims from these countries could go around the entry procedures in Saudi, could go straight to the buses and travel to their accommodation in Makkah as well as Madinah. Their luggage will be directly delivered to their accommodation.
