Riyadh: The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques President informed on Monday that Kiswa of the Kaaba would be delivered to the senior keeper of Kaaba on Dhu Al-Hijjah 10, Arab News reported.
This will be done on the first day of Eid Al-Adha, while a new covering for Kaaba will be placed on it on Muharram first, the Islamic new year.
The president, Sheikh Abdulrahman Al-Sudais, praised the Saudi administration for its active support in providing services to the two holy mosques and the special attention given to Kaaba and its Kiswa.
He said that Kaaba is draped with fresh Kiswa every year. Last day he had announced that preparations to cover the Kaaba this year had been finalized.
The Kiswa is made of raw silk, which is dyed black. It would be decorated with Quran verses embroidered with gold-plated thread. The cloth is prepared at King Abdulaziz Complex for Holy Kaaba Kiswa.
Further, Sudais opened a campaign that aimed to make Hajj Zamzam water available for pilgrims at Arafat for Hajj rituals.
