Saudi HR ministry promotes seasonal work during Hajj

The Saudi Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development continues to promote seasonal work during the Hajj season through its Ajeer Al-Hajj and Seasonal Permits services, according to a report by the Saudi Press Agency on Saturday.

Ajeer Al-Hajj allows facilities to issue temporary work permits and employ both Saudis and residents. It also provides a platform, Bab Ajeer, for posting job openings and enabling job seekers to apply. The service aims to enhance workforce flexibility, improve market competency, provide flexible employment solutions and reduce reliance on external labour. So far, 924 facilities have benefited, with 11,715 permits issued.

The seasonal permits service helps facilities meet their labour needs during Hajj and serves pilgrims by issuing permits under simplified terms. A total of 42,853 seasonal work permits have been issued across various professions.

Oversight committees from the ministry ensure compliance with seasonal work permit regulations through field visits in Makkah and other holy sites. These visits are part of the ministry's efforts to enforce regulations and ensure smooth operations during the Hajj season.
