Hussam bin Abdul Mohsen Alangari, President of the General Court of Audit (GCA) of Saudi Arabia, met with Girish Chandra Murmu, Comptroller and Auditor General of India, in Riyadh on Thursday. An accompanying delegation from India attended the meeting.
The discussions focused on several topics of mutual interest, with both parties exploring ways to enhance and activate cooperation across various areas. The Indian delegation was given an overview of the GCA’s experiences transitioning from a cash to an accrual basis of accounting within Saudi Arabia's public sector. They were also briefed on the GCA’s professional capacity-building initiatives.
Tariq bin Ahmed Al-Jarifani, Director General of the Saudi Center for Financial and Performance Auditing and Executive Vice President for Corporate Services, provided insights into the court’s advanced methodologies in developing professional capacities. These methodologies include training in intermediate accounting, international public sector accounting standards and international standards on auditing.
