Saudi Falcons Exhibition 2025: Most expensive Mongolian Falcon sold for SAR650,000

A Mongolian falcon sold for a record SAR650,000 at the International Saudi Falcons and Hunting Exhibition 2025 on Monday, marking the highest price ever paid for a Mongolian falcon.

The bird, a hur qarnas (adult falcon), attracted intense bidding at the auction, which featured several elite falcons from Mongolia. Alongside the record-breaking sale, another Mongolian falcon, a hur farkh (juvenile), was sold for SAR128,000, bringing the total sales for the day to SAR778,000.

The auction is part of a special section at this year’s exhibition dedicated to Mongolian falcons, the first time such a feature has been included. The dedicated zone showcases top falcon breeds from Mongolia in East Asia, known for their size, long wingspans and endurance.

Mongolian falcons, particularly the hur variety, are prized among falconers in Saudi Arabia and across the region for their resilience, adaptability to harsh environments and responsiveness to training. Their colors range from white to dark brown and they are valued for both their performance in falconry and their rarity.

The International Saudi Falcons and Hunting Exhibition, held annually, has become a key marketplace for falconers and breeders worldwide.
