Saudi Arabia to issue entry permits for Makkah ahead of hajj season

Jeddah: Saudi Arabia's General Directorate of Public Security has announced plans to issue instructions for residents seeking permission to enter Makkah ahead of the upcoming Hajj season. The directive aims to streamline entry procedures and ensure compliance with regulations governing access to the holy city.

Residents intending to enter Makkah must obtain permission from the relevant authorities. Failure to secure the necessary permits will result in entry restrictions, as emphasized by the General Directorate of Public Security.

To enhance efficiency and convenience for residents, the General Directorate of Passports has introduced electronic entry permits for workers in Makkah. This digital service, accessible through the Ministry of Interior's online platforms Absher and the Muqeem portal, eliminates the need for in-person visits to passport offices, allowing applicants to submit their documents online.

The initiative to issue electronic entry permits aligns with efforts to streamline entry procedures and facilitate a smoother experience for residents during the Hajj season. By leveraging digital platforms, authorities aim to expedite the issuance process while ensuring compliance with regulations.

Authorities highlight the importance of adhering to entry permit requirements, emphasizing that unauthorized entry into Makkah will not be permitted. Residents are urged to obtain the necessary permits in advance to avoid any disruptions to their travel plans.
