Saudi Arabia provides 27,000 buses for Hajj pilgrims

The Kingdom's Transport General Authority will deploy over 27,000 buses to transport pilgrims during Hajj, the Saudi Press Agency reports. These buses will operate on 16 routes with 11 stops and stations, facilitating easy access to destinations.

More than 3,500 buses will specifically transport people to and from the Grand Mosque of Makkah. Additionally, 355 buses in Makkah and 27 in Madinah have been allocated for general use throughout the Hajj visit.

To ensure comfort and privacy, smoking, eating and loud telephone conversations are prohibited on the buses. Each vehicle is equipped to accommodate individuals with mobility issues or disabilities, and drivers are instructed to treat passengers with care and respect.

On journeys exceeding three hours with delays over an hour, passengers will receive complimentary meals and refreshments.

The transport authority has established a hotline number, 19929, for reporting travel issues and can also be contacted on X via its customer care account.
