Saudi Arabia joins regional nations to celebrate Arab Meteorological Day

Saudi Arabia will join other nations in the region on Sunday to celebrate Arab Meteorological Day, observed annually on September 15, according to the Saudi Press Agency. This year’s theme, “Climate Impact and Adaptation Programs,” focuses on addressing the challenges of climate change and its related environmental and economic impacts on Arab countries.

The 2024 celebration aims to spotlight joint Arab efforts to enhance resilience against climate change and ensure a sustainable future for coming generations. The event also seeks to raise awareness about climate change's effects and promote adaptation programs that protect natural resources and infrastructure.

Additionally, it emphasizes strengthening regional cooperation among Arab countries by exchanging knowledge, supporting research and development and improving weather and climate forecasting capabilities.

In Saudi Arabia, the National Center of Meteorology is organizing various events across the Kingdom, showcasing the country’s role in addressing climate change and the importance of Arab Meteorological Day.
