Saudi Arabia’s Transport General Authority (TGA) has announced the readiness of more than 33,000 buses and 5,000 taxis to serve pilgrims during the 2026 Hajj season.
The authority said the preparations form part of operational and regulatory plans aimed at improving mobility and increasing transport efficiency throughout the pilgrimage period.
TGA said it has implemented integrated operational and organisational measures to strengthen transport readiness and service standards across the holy sites and key areas in Makkah.
The authority added that transport services will be provided at approved rates and in line with regulatory and oversight requirements intended to maintain service quality and ensure passenger safety.
Officials said the measures are designed to support safe and organised travel for pilgrims and facilitate smoother movement during Hajj.
