Prophet’s mosque enhances accessibility for elderly and disabled

The General Authority for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques is intensifying its efforts to serve pilgrims and visitors at the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah, focusing on the elderly and persons with disabilities. The authority has prepared ten designated prayer areas near the mosque gates, four prayer rooms in the northern expansion, three in the western expansion and three in the eastern expansion.

A special room on the mosque's roof, accommodating 100 people, has been set up for the deaf and mute, allowing them to understand the Friday sermon through sign language interpretation. The authority also provides electric golf carts and wheelchairs to facilitate the movement of pilgrims and worshipers within the mosque and its courtyards.

These measures are part of the authority’s commitment to providing the highest and best services for the elderly and disabled.
