Riyadh: The beginning of the new Umrah season for citizens and residents of Gulf Cooperation Council countries, including the Kingdom, was declared by Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Hajj and Umrah on Tuesday.
Following the successful conclusion of this year's Hajj season, citizens and residents of GCC nations are now allowed to apply for an Umrah permission through the Nusuk or Tawakkalna applications, Arab News reported.
The Tawakkalna application assures that the applicant satisfies the requisite health standards, while the Nusuk application can be used to secure the required permits to do Umrah and go to the Holy Rawdah at the Prophet's Mosque in Madinah.
The Minister recently declared that from with the beginning of the new Islamic year, which will happen on either next Tuesday or Wednesday, pilgrims from outside the GCC region will be eligible to perform Umrah.
