Makkah Route Initiative uses AI to streamline Hajj journey

Jeddah: The Makkah Route Initiative has implemented AI-enhanced services to streamline the Hajj for pilgrims from various countries, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency on Sunday.

The initiative uses advanced digital technology to simplify the pilgrimage journey, particularly through expedited entry procedures at dedicated lounges in pilgrims' home country airports.

Key services include issuing electronic Hajj visas, biometric data collection, completing passport procedures, meeting health requirements and efficient luggage tagging and sorting. Upon arrival in Saudi Arabia, pathways are assigned and partner agencies ensure hassle-free delivery of luggage to pilgrims' accommodations.

Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi, Chairman of the Pakistan Ulema Council, praised the program for simplifying the Hajj journey and thanked the Saudi government for their commitment to serving pilgrims with high technological standards.

SPA observed the proficient work of Saudi personnel involved in the project at Islamabad’s airport, witnessing the initiative's impact on facilitating the Hajj pilgrimage.
