2nd Saudi Cinema Nights international film series starts this month

The Saudi Film Commission is set to launch the second edition of its Saudi Cinema Nights series of international film screenings this month. The event aims to showcase Saudi-produced films and foster a deeper appreciation of Saudi cinema on a global scale.

This year's Saudi Cinema Nights series will be expanded to include screenings in five countries, compared to just one country last year. The series will feature more than 20 Saudi-produced feature films and shorts, highlighting the diversity and talent of the Saudi film industry.

The Saudi Cinema Nights series will kick off in Morocco in April, followed by screenings in Australia, China and India. The series will conclude in Mexico in January next year, providing an extensive international platform for Saudi cinema.

The series will showcase a variety of Saudi-produced films, offering audiences a glimpse into the rich cultural tapestry of Saudi Arabia. From thought-provoking feature films to captivating shorts, the lineup promises to captivate and inspire audiences around the world.

In addition to the film screenings, each location will host interactive discussion sessions with filmmakers. These sessions will provide audiences with the opportunity to engage directly with the creators and gain insight into the creative process behind the films.

Abdullah Al-Qahtani, the CEO of the Film Commission, expressed the commission's commitment to enhancing cinema culture in Saudi Arabia. He highlighted the potential of Saudi films to attract international audiences, emphasizing the importance of events like Saudi Cinema Nights in achieving this goal.
