The Sultanate of Oman will host the first Arab Women Researchers Forum on November 30, 2025. The two-day event in Al Buraimi will bring together Arab women researchers from various scientific and academic fields, along with representatives of regional and international organizations.
The forum is organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation in cooperation with the Arab League’s Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO), the Oman National Commission for Education, Culture and Science and the University of Al Buraimi.
The initiative reflects the growing recognition of Arab women’s role in supporting sustainable development through research and innovation. It aims to enhance collaboration among researchers, promote the exchange of expertise and highlight women’s participation in research, technology and innovation in line with the Arab strategy for scientific advancement.
Nine dialogue sessions will address topics including culture, tourism and media, sustainable development, green economy, artificial intelligence, innovation and health and social care. The discussions will also explore the future of higher education and strategies to increase women’s participation in research and policymaking.
The forum emphasizes Oman’s ongoing efforts to support women researchers and strengthen their presence in Arab and international academic forums. The final session will present key recommendations and outcomes aimed at advancing Arab women’s role in science and innovation.
