Oman ranked second globally in the 2025 Air Quality Index released by Numbeo, placing just behind Singapore. The result follows ongoing national work to strengthen environmental regulations and improve air-monitoring systems across the country.
Authorities link the ranking to stricter industrial requirements, the expansion of modern monitoring technology and increased public participation in environmental programs. These steps have supported efforts to maintain cleaner air and meet national sustainability targets.
The Environment Authority of Oman noted the ranking and said it aligns with the country’s environmental plans. The authority stated it will continue working with all sectors to support air-quality protection and promote long-term environmental responsibility.
