Omani authorities conducted another mountain rescue this week after an Italian woman sustained a head injury while hiking in Al Jabal Al Akhdar, Al Dakhiliyah Governorate.
According to the Royal Oman Police, the woman fell off the trail and was airlifted by the police air wing to Khoula Hospital in Muscat for urgent medical treatment.
This incident is the latest in a series of mountain rescue operations in recent months. On October 17, the Royal Oman Police Air Wing evacuated a man who injured his foot while hiking in the IMTI area, also in Al Dakhiliyah. He was transported to Nizwa Hospital for medical care.
Earlier, on July 25, emergency services assisted another hiker who was injured while trekking in the rugged mountains of Salalah, Dhofar Governorate.
Rescue and ambulance teams from the Civil Defence and Ambulance Department were deployed in each case, providing rapid response in challenging terrain.
Authorities reminded hikers and adventure seekers to take necessary precautions, follow safety guidelines and ensure proper preparation before setting out on mountain trails, especially in remote areas known for difficult conditions.
