India-Oman business meet strengthens trade ties

Muscat: The Embassy of India in Muscat hosted an India-Oman Business-to-Business (B2B) Meeting at the Sheraton Oman Hotel. The event featured 27 Indian companies from the agriculture and food sectors, led by Dr. Sudhanshu, Secretary of APEDA and over 30 Omani companies.

The guests include Dr. Masoud bin Sulaiman Al Azri from the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, Eng. Hussain Hassan Ali Abdulhusin, Mr. Redha Juma Al Saleh from the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Ms. Lubna Al Harthi from the Ministry of Commerce and Investment Promotion.

Indian Ambassador Amit Narang highlighted India's expanding agricultural exports and their potential to enhance India-Oman trade relations. A Market Study Report on the food, agriculture and marine sectors was launched, outlining key opportunities for trade enhancement.

The delegation also visited the Embassy to discuss future collaborations. India's delegation showcased its agricultural advancements, emphasising the potential for new business opportunities with Omani counterparts.

India and Oman have a strong history of economic ties, with bilateral trade doubling from USD 5.4 million in 2020-21 to USD 12.3 billion in 2022-23, reflecting robust economic growth.
