Kuwait: According to a sample survey in which 10,000 people took part, 45 percent of Kuwaiti citizens are not ready to receive the COVID vaccine. The Ministry of Health has decided to conduct an awareness campaign to make people aware of the importance of vaccination. The campaign will be attended by eminent doctors.
The first dose of the vaccine will be given to Health Minister Dr. Bassil Assabah in order to alleviate the anxiety of the people. Authorities have begun preparations to make the vaccine available by the end of December.
57 lakh doses are being imported. It is estimated that this will be enough to vaccinate 2.8 million people. COVID vaccination will not be given for people under 13 years of age. The vaccine is also free for foreigners. Kuwait has agreed to import 10 lakh doses of Pfizer, 17 lakh doses of Modona and 30 lakh doses of Oxford AstraZeneca.
Priority is given to health workers, the elderly, and people with disabilities, the terminally ill, and others who are part of the COVID prevention activities.
