A new complaint of rape against Rahul Mamkootathil alleges that he is a ‘sexual predator’ and exploits young women using his political influence. The complainant, who accused him of sexual assault, demanded that should be barred from interacting closely with women and children as a public servant.
The survivor alleged that Rahul raped her, promising to marry her. The incident related to her complaint happened after she returned from Bengaluru for a vacation.
According to the woman, she met Rahul through Instagram in September 2023. Later, Rahul asked for her Telegram account number, claiming that his Instagram account admins were monitoring her and that he wanted privacy, she said.
According to her, she gave him her Telegram number and later Rahul started sending her messages saying that he liked her and wanted to marry her. He assured her that he would get married and that it would not affect her job in Bengaluru. He kept saying that he would always be with her, she said.
The complainant says that after this, she told her family about her relationship with Rahul. Although her family hesitated at first, it agreed to her marriage decision later. When she told Rahul about this, Rahul replied that he would come home with his relatives during the next vacation.
When she returned home for the next vacation, Rahul demanded to see her alone. He invited her on the pretext of discussing future matters, she says in her complaint.
She said that Rahul came with a friend named Fenny Nainan. Rahul took her to an isolated homestay-like building in the city, claiming that the space would provide them protection from the public.
According to her complaint, Rahul attacked and brutally tortured her after she went inside the establishment. Though she was visibly injured all over her body, he showed no compassion or mercy, she alleged.
The woman's complaint also states that when she asked him if he would marry her, Rahul replied that he had no such intention.
