Thiruvananthapuram: After the LDF’s electoral defeat, Pinarayi Vijayan reached the state capital on Tuesday, a day after stepping down as Chief Minister. He is currently continuing in a caretaker role.
He travelled from Kannur to Thiruvananthapuram and was received at the airport by CPM leaders V. Sivankutty, A. A. Raheem, and V. Joy.
From the airport, Vijayan proceeded to Cliff House in a vehicle arranged by the AKG Centre. Although he was entitled to use the official Chief Minister’s vehicle and a police escort, he reportedly opted to travel in a party vehicle without any security convoy, the New Indian Express reported.
When approached by the media for a reaction to the election results, Vijayan declined to comment, instead responding with a smile before leaving the airport.
He is expected to vacate Cliff House on Wednesday and shift to a party flat where he had previously stayed during his tenure as CPM state secretary.
