Kochi: Malayalam actor and mimicry artist Kollam Sudhi lost his life in a car accident in the early hours of Monday, June 5. Sudhi, who was 39 years old, was one of the most beloved personalities in the entertainment industry. His demise has left the entire community and his fans grieving.
The unfortunate incident occurred when Sudhi, along with three other artists, Binu Adimali, Ullas Aroor, and Mahesh, were returning from an event in Vadakara. Their car collided head-on with a goods carrier around 4.30 am near Kaipamangalam in Kerala's Thrissur district.
Despite immediate medical attention, Sudhi succumbed to the severe head injury he sustained in the accident. The remaining artists were also injured and are currently receiving treatment at a private hospital in Kodungallur. However, they will soon be shifted to a hospital in Ernakulam for further advanced care.
Kollam Sudhi was a prominent figure in the Malayalam television show Star Magic, which aired on the Flowers channel. The program showcased satirical skits and performances featuring various television and mimicry artists. Sudhi's witty banter and humorous transformations won him a significant fan base, particularly among regular television viewers.
In addition to his television career, Sudhi had also made notable contributions to the Malayalam film industry. He made his debut in the movie "Kanthari" in 2015 and received critical acclaim for his role in "Kattapanayile Hrithik Roshan." His talent was further recognized in the film "Keshu Ee Veedinte Nadhan."
The news of Kollam Sudhi's untimely demise has shocked the entertainment fraternity and his countless admirers. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan expressed his condolences.
