Kerala Vigilance rolls out digital platform to monitor probe timelines

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau has introduced a new digital platform to monitor the progress of corruption investigations and identify cases facing prolonged delays.

Home and Vigilance Minister Ramesh Chennithala launched the upgraded system, VCB Suite 3.0, on Friday.

The platform will digitise case records and investigation-related information, allowing senior officers and unit heads to review the status of cases without relying on physical files or waiting for paper reports.

It will record the time taken by each investigating officer to complete a probe and indicate the number of days a case has remained pending. Senior officials will be able to use the data to intervene, issue directions and provide guidance when investigations are delayed.

Describing the system as an integrated platform for handling and coordinating vigilance cases, Chennithala said it would improve oversight and help speed up decision-making in corruption-related matters.

VCB Suite 3.0 also includes upgraded features for document verification, data protection and faster processing of case information. The system is designed to provide senior officers with access to investigation updates at different administrative levels.

The minister said the availability of case details in digital form would enable the government and the Vigilance department to take more informed and timely decisions.

The platform was developed by technical personnel within the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau, without external assistance.

Chennithala also released the system’s user manual and distributed newly designed uniforms to Vigilance personnel. A training session for officers was conducted following the inauguration.

State Police Chief Ravada Azad Chandrasekhar presided over the programme. DGP and Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau Director Manoj Abraham welcomed the gathering, while Home Department Adviser and former DGP A. Hemachandran attended as the chief guest.
