Kozhikode: P Mujeeb Rahman has been designated Kerala state Amir of the Jamaat-e-Islami Hind by All India Amir Syed Sadatullah Hussaini, who appointed him after taking into account the opinions of members of the Jamaat-e-Islami in the state.
Mujeeb Rehman is an Islamic scholar, speaker, and seasoned organiser who has served as the state vice president of the organisation since 2015. He was previously the State General Secretary from 2011 to 2015 and has been a member of the Central Council of Representatives and the State Consultative Committee since 2011.
Having completed his studies at Shantapuram Islamia College, Mujeeb Rahman began his public activism career with SIO, where he served as the state general secretary. He has also been elected twice as the State President of the Solidarity Youth Movement.
Born on March 5, 1972, to the late P Muhammad and Fatima Suhra, Mujeeb Rehman hails from Nilambur in Malappuram district. His wife, CT Jaseela, hails from Poopalam, Perinthalmanna, and the couple have four children: Amal Rehman, Amana Wardda, Ashfaq Ahmad and Ameena Afrin.
