Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan mocked Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s church visit on Easter saying that the intention was for atonement for past deeds of the Sangh Parivar, it is a good thing.
On Easter Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Sacred Heart Church in Delhi's Connaught Place. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan made comments on this visit during a CPIM program in Angamaly.
CM Vijayan stated that if the visit was intended for atonement for past deeds of the Sangh Parivar, it was a good thing. He questioned whether the tiger would take a different stance after tasting it and whether it would travel any other way.
The CM also mentioned that BJP leaders have been visiting churches in Kerala, and there is no harm in taking a different position.
He further stated that Christian hunting is happening outside Kerala, and the government will take a firm stand against any attempt to create communal conflict in the state. The government will not compromise on this position.
