Kozhikode: Former minister and Congress leader K.K. Ramachandran master died here on Thursday morning. He was 84.
He was taken into hospital yesterday following discomfort and the leader died of a heart attack.
In his long political career spanning several decades, K.K Ramchandran held many positions: in 2004 he was a member of the party's national committee.
In the state politics, he rose in the party ranks to become the KPCC general secretary between 1970 and 2017.
The six-time lawmaker served as minister for portfolios including health, food and civil supplies including in the AK Antony ministry.
He turned to politics after quitting teaching position; he was expelled from the party in 2011, after raising allegations in a graft case.
However he was taken back to the fold, the party did not give him any leadership role.
