Cases filed against CAA protesters in Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode

Thiruvananthapuram/Kozhikode: A case has been registered against those who have taken out protests today in Thiruvanathapuram and Kozhikode following the Centre’s notification on the Citizenship Amendment Act.

The workers of Welfare Party, Fraternity, Youth Congress and MSF are now facing charges for taking part in the protest.

The museum police have charged 124 people with bailable sections for organising a protest march to Raj Bhavan in Thiruvananthapuram.

Even as Fraternity and Youth Congress workers are booked in Kozhikode, RPF filed a case against 40 Youth Congress workers for blocking the train.

Several cases related to the anti-CAA agitation are on the docket in multiple places in the state.

Amid complaints of not having withdrawn any case, nevertheless the government and the Chief Minister himself promised so, newer cases are being filed against protesters.

Following the Centre’s notification of the Citizenship Amendment Act, widespread protests are taking place across the state.

Not long after the issuance of the notification, youth outfits have taken out protests including a march to Raj Bhavan and all the central institutions.

Train blocking has been reported from several places in the state.
