Actress Ansiba has accused the Kerala Police of failing to act on her complaint against those who allegedly defamed her through a YouTube channel. In a Facebook post apparently directed at actress Lakshmipriya, she said that despite filing a complaint with the Palarivattom Police, no action had been taken.
Ansiba said her complaint was against people who had spread false allegations against her and subjected her to extreme humiliation. However, she alleged that the Palarivattom Police informed the court that the matter was merely a “defamation case.”
Tagging the social media pages of the Chief Minister, the Home Minister, and the Kerala Police Chief, Ansiba wrote that she had learned the government told the court that investigating complaints filed by her was not the duty of the Kerala Police, Manorama News reported.
She questioned how authorities measure what constitutes an insult to a woman’s dignity, adding that if such treatment is not considered an insult, she is willing to forgive the humiliation she has faced. She said she approached the law because the accused’s actions had severely insulted both her womanhood and her personality.
“If the authorities do not see this as an insult to women, then I apologise to you for filing the complaint,” she wrote.
Ansiba added that she is prepared to pursue justice in the matter to any extent necessary because, according to her, what was targeted was her dignity and her womanhood. She said only those who experience such a loss can understand the pain, and that others may not understand it until the same kind of harassment reaches them.
