Ambition is the spur that makes one struggle with destiny, says Dr Raju Narayana Swamy

Malappuram: Dr Raju Narayana Swamy, IAS, Principal Secretary to the Government of Kerala and widely regarded as the state’s anti-corruption crusader, on Wednesday said that ambition is the spur that makes one struggle with destiny.

“Ambition is God’s own incentive to make purpose great and achievement greater,” he said while addressing students at a session titled “The Success Blueprint: Career and Beyond”, organized by the Career Guidance and Counselling Cell of MSMHSS, Kallingalparamba in Malappuram district.

Quoting Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Dr Swamy said, “Education stands for humanism, for tolerance, for adventure of ideas, for search for truth.” He stressed that education does not begin with the learning of the alphabet but with a mother’s look, a father’s nod of approbation, a sister’s gentle pressure of the hand and a brother’s noble act of forbearance.

Highlighting the importance of choosing the right career, he advised students to select one that best suits their aptitude and interest, rather than merely considering financial prospects.

The event was attended by the school principal, Shaji Mathew, along with other dignitaries.
