First flight carrying Diaspora will land today

Dubai: Flights carrying Indians stranded abroad will begin arriving today.

The mission, however, comes truncated contrary to the previously announced schedules and number of passengers.

The flight scheduled for departure today from Doha has been deferred to 9 and another one from Riyadh will leave only the day after tomorrow.

However, there is no change in schedules of flight from Oman, Bahrain, and Kuwait. The first flight from UAE will take off on Thursday afternoon at 2.10 pm.

Meanwhile, the Indian Navy ship heading to Dubai wasn’t given permission to dock.

Only one flight will arrive in Kochi on Thursday night from Abu Dhabi at 9.40 pm carrying 177.

The flight between Dubai-Kozhikode will leave at five in the evening, carrying 170.

However, it is not yet sure whether all listed passengers could make it in the first flight.

On arrival passengers will have to undergo mandatory medical tests and clearing the test, they can leave observing strict medical vigil.

The previous plan was to carry 200 passengers in the flight from Dubai, which later cut down owing to social distancing.

The situation of passengers having to pay for their journey discourages many who want to join the exodus.

Central and state lawmakers from Kerala as well as some outfits in Gulf will pay for some tickets.
