Thiruvananthapuram: A report by fact finding committee confirms complaints of undermining community reservation in staff selection committee at Sri Chitra Institute of Medical science.
The commitee, chaired by K V Sachidanadan, former vice chairman, Central Administrative Tribunal, also include Dr. Vinod K Singh, Dr. BN Gangadhar, Professor K Jayaprasad, and the team submitted its report to Central minister Doctor Harsha Vardhan.
The Committee directed the institute to follow national policy in SC-ST, OBC reservation.
The administration has failed to settle complaints timely. There was no SC-ST, OBC member on the staff selection committee as an observer. The selection committee has not abided by the directions by the Central government since 2019.
Vacancy for deputy director( Admin) has to be filled sticking to procedures; there are complaints against incumbent deputy director and PRO. PRO is to be an experienced and qualified person, or be appointed on deputation.
Department heads should maintain leadership qualities and decorous relations. The institute director should form a complaint redressal committee, the fact finding committee directed.
