Malappuram: An emergency meeting of health officials has been held at the collectorate here after bird flu was reported in the district.
Earlier chicken was found dead at a small home-farm here in Parapanangadi and sample were tested at Bhopal.
By Wednesday night, test result arrived confirming the disease. Authorities decided to cull chicken within one kilometers as part of containing the disease.
Earlier, Bird flu was confirmed in Kozhikode district necessitating mass culling of chicken in farms.
