Ebrahim Kunju among the accused in Palarivattom Bridge case

Kochi: The former minister VK Ebrahim Kunju is now among those accused in the corruption case linked to construction of the Palarivattam flyover.

Following the move, Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB) searched the residence of Ebrahim Kunju at Aluva on Monday.

Also to be accused in the case are KITCO officials Nisha Thankachi and Shalimar and Palarivattom Bridge designing company official Manjunath.

Governor earlier gave sanction to VACB to prosecute the former minister. However, the statement given by former PWD secretary T O Sooraj to VACB was pivotal in arraigning Ebrahmin Kunju.

Sooraj in his statement to VACB allegedly said that the decision to sanction advance amount was taken with the knowledge of the former minister.
