ICH fiasco: No security breach, police says

Thiruvananthapuram: The police intelligence has submitted that no security breach occured in Indian History Congress (ICH) held recently at Kannur. Chief of Intelligence wing, TK Vinodkumar who called on Governor Arif Mohammed Khan on Wednesday, handed over the report on the fiasco happened during the event.

The Rajbhavan officials conveyed that Raman Srivastava and DGP Loknath Behra had visited the Governor to give an explanation in the regard.

However, the Governor on Wednesday said that IHC has a criminal content.

"In the IHC, they have advised the state government not to cooperate with the Centre on the CAA. There is a criminal content in it," said Khan and gave a clean chit to the Kerala Police on what happened in the IHC.

"More than blaming the police, I take the blame, if anything went wrong, as it's me as the Chancellor, to take cognisance of it," added Khan.

At the IHC venue, Eminent historian Irfan Habib had taken strong objection against the Governor while the latter talked about debates around CAA protests happening across the country.

Since then Khan has been criticising the state government. This has increased after the Assembly passed a resolution that was opposed by just the sole BJP legislator, which took place on Tuesday.
