Shaheen Bagh-model protest: despite ultimatum, protests continue

Thiruvananthapuram: Although the police served eviction notices two days ago, protests in front of secretariat continue.

Earlier the Cantonment police issued an ultimatum, giving two days to shift agitation from the pavement in front of the Secretariat.

The police in the notice said that the tents were in a high-security zone, obstructing the view of the Secretariat.

Despite notices, the protesters decided to go ahead with agitation.

Police tried to put in pressure the pandal make by serving notice asking to remove the pandal by noon yesterday.

In the morning, Pandal maker brought in workers to remove the pandal which the protesters resisted.

Eventually police backed away from removing the pandal in the face of protest.
