Centre likely to intervene in missing of guns, ammunition

Thiruvananthapuram: The CAG report on Kerala police has stirred a hornets’ nest, possibly attracting Centre’s intervention in the issue of missing guns and ammunition.

BJP and Congress has sought investigation by central agencies including NIA in the matter as it could affect national security and BJP sent a letter to Amit Shah seeking investigation.

Central minister v muralidharan also hinted at Centre’s possible intervention in the issue. Just as the issue gained momentum, DGP Loknath Behera remained reticent.

Luxury cars couldn’t have bought in any case, using funds for renovation of police force borne by the state and the Centre at 60-40 ratio.

As per conditions, the money should have used for purchasing trucks and jeeps for better functioning of police stations and camps.  CAG has found that all these conditions as flouted.
