Kerala govt likely to detour stay order via ordinance

Thiruvananthapuram: The government could detour the HC stay against its salary challenge move through ordinance, reports say.

The High Court stayed for two months the decision to deduct six-day salary of all its employees in the next five months as a temporary measure.
Reports say that the state government has begun seeking ways to overcome the stay order.

The legal department will brainstorm the legal validity of an ordinance.

Further on this is likely to be decided at the cabinet meeting to be held on Wednesday.

An appeal against the HC order is also under consideration, it is learnt.

Salary is an employee's right, however, the state government could go in for an appeal, if it wished, the court said.
