Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala High Court on Tuesday asked the Kerala government a volley of questions regarding the sprinklr controversy.

Opposition UDF put the government on the spot over the contract regarding details of 1.75 lakh people from the state.

The High Court questioned why sanctions were not sought from the Law Department before the contract.

As for the appointment of the foreign firm, the court asked why the government’s information technology agencies were not used instead.

The state government's counsel argued that the data collected did not contain sensitive personal information.

The 2-judge bench emphasized importance of data confidentiality in the present world.
