Case against 50 for heckling Agnivesh

Thiruvananthapuram: The Poojappura police on Thursday registered a case against 50 activists of BJP and RSS in connection with heckling of activist Swami Agnivesh at a function in Capital a day ago.

Agnivesh was participating a seminar, organized by Vaidya Mahasabha, on traditional medical systems.

Altercation broke out  when Swami Agnivesh moved over to deliver the speech; some alleged right wing activists heckled him, and Swami Agnivesh chose to stop his speech and left. The case was registered on the complaint filed by the activist.

Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition Ramesh Chennithala visited Swami Agnivesh at the Government Guest House in Thycaud and condemned the incident.

CPI (M) State secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan supported Swami Agnivesh, condemning the incident.
